Job Description

Quality Management:

  • Ensure that materials are tested and qualified as per the standards / SOP.

  • Lead 6S related activities in the laboratory

  • Manage and ensure plant quality complies with local regulations and ISO requirements

  • Participate in solving quality deviations and support production in resolving issues related to quality

  • Participate in the troubleshooting of deviation from standards in equipment and production processes

  • Participate in complaint analysis and support in implementing corrective & preventive actions.

  • Notify gaps in test methods or specification to QA Chemist / Quality Manager / Group & Local R&D and Group Quality and act as per their guidelines.

  • Initiate rework of faulty bulk batches returned paints aged paints and raw materials slow moving paints in the inventory.

  • Approval of production batch cards.

  • Manage Lab Technicians in daily Quality Control to ensure specifications of products are met.

  • Update local formulation in ERP as per the guideline of R&D (colour development)

  • All other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Audit management:

  • Support lead auditor for internal quality audits (including customer audit external and internal audit) and supplier audits as per ISO9001 & ISO14001 requirements and report nonconformity and recommends opportunities for improvement

  • Complete identified actions for observations & nonconformities rasied in internal quality audits within the stipulated period

Quality Induction/Training/Meeting:

  • Participate in local or regional quality meetings and weekly meetings as required

  • Participate in safety walks and actively involve in reporting & rectification and (or) prevention of unsafe acts and incidences

  • Provide QC orientation to newcomers and provide quality awareness on periodic basis

What are we looking for

Bachelors degree in Science (major in Chemistry) or Quality Assurance Management or any equivalent field

  • At least a minimum of 35 years of relevant working experience in quality control function.

  • Preferably with experience in paint /coatings /chemical manufacturing industries

  • Experience in stakeholder management and good understanding of commercial environment is key advantage

  • Able to work independently and in a fast pace environment and result oriented

  • Highly motivated with a positive learning attitude

  • Computer literacy

  • Should be able to read write and communicate in English
