Job Opportunity: Credit Underwriting Manager Location: Global (Remote/Hybrid options available) Industry: Natural Resources/Commodity Trading Job Overview: Our client a leading global natural resources company is looking for an experienced Credit Underwriting Manager to join their global Credit Risk team. This is a critical position requiring relevant experience in Credit Risk or Credit Underwriting particularly within mining commodity trading banking or consultancy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of credit risk monitoringcounterparty analysis and complex credit structures and will be responsible for managing a team of underwriting analysts. This position demands the ability to work closely with global stakeholders to oversee the credit risk portfolio and ensure the team meets performance goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of credit underwriting analysts to ensure high performance and development.
Support the Global Head of Underwriting in conducting credit risk assessments reporting and portfolio management.
Perform indepth financial analysis setting limits & ratings and conducting reassessments for a global oil marketing portfolio.
Provide expert guidance on credit risk appetite and asset valuations.
Monitor market sector trends and produce macroeconomic analysis for informed decisionmaking.
Report on credit risk performance and KPIs to senior management.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and the commercial credit team.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Finance Risk Management Accounting Economics or Business Studies.
Postgraduate qualifications or certifications such as Chartered AccountantChartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or similar are highly advantageous.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk or Credit Underwriting with a strong focus on mining commodity trading banking or consultancy. This experience is essential and nonnegotiable.
Extensive experience in financial analysis and reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint Access); skills in VBA PowerBI or Python are a plus.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
