The Archives Fellow assists the Archivist in special projects at the Saint Joseph University Libraries. This is a part time fellow position that lasts from June 10 2025 August 23 2025. The Fellowship is made possible through the Gladys Brooks Foundation.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
Assist archivist with organization of specialized collection within archives and special collections
Work independently on assigned projects
Organizing and providing metadata to digitized files
Minimum Qualifications: (Education/Training and Experience)
Required:
Completed or inprocess Masters degree in relevant field (public history library/information science or museum studies)
Familiarity with archives and preservation
Preferred:
Archival studies certificate or degree emphasis
Demonstrable familiarity with archival theory practice and applications related to digital repositories archives and special collections
Demonstrable familiarity and/or experience in cataloging and metadata creation
Basic reading proficiency in Spanish
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
This position will require lifting up to 20 pounds and the manipulation of fragile materials
