Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant Cloud SME
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud SME Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. As a Cloud SME you will be responsible for providing expertlevel support and guidance in the management monitoring and troubleshooting of cloudbased infrastructures and services. You will play a critical role in ensuring high availability performance and security across the organizations cloud environments specifically in AWS Azure or Google Cloud. You will act as the goto expert for all cloudrelated incidents and provide strategic recommendations for improvements in cloud architecture and operations.
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Expertise:
o Provide advanced subject matter expertise and handson support for cloud infrastructure (AWS Azure or Google Cloud).
o Be the primary point of contact for complex cloudrelated issues ensuring quick and effective resolutions.
o Ensure cloud environments are optimized for performance scalability and security.
o Assist in the design and implementation of cloudbased solutions aligned with best practices.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting:
o Lead troubleshooting efforts for major incidents affecting cloud infrastructure or services working closely with other engineering teams to resolve root causes.
o Resolve highpriority incidents in realtime ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
o Investigate and diagnose cloudbased network storage compute and application issues and provide timely escalations and resolutions.
Proactive Monitoring & Optimization:
o Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure resources using tools such as AWS CloudWatch Azure Monitor or Google Stackdriver.
o Implement proactive monitoring strategies alert thresholds and performance tuning to ensure optimal cloud resource usage and availability.
o Provide recommendations to improve cloud resource utilization and reduce operational costs.
Cloud Security and Compliance:
o Ensure that cloud environments adhere to security best practices including identity management encryption and access control.
o Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to maintain cloud environments security posture.
o Stay updated on the latest cloud security trends and integrate them into daily operations.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture incident response processes troubleshooting procedures and cloud best practices.
o Develop and present knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams ensuring the organizations collective understanding of cloudrelated concepts and technologies.
o Create and maintain runbooks and procedures to ensure smooth operational workflows for the NOC team.
Collaboration and Leadership:
o Collaborate with other NOC engineers IT and cloud teams to address infrastructure issues and improve system reliability.
o Lead root cause analysis (RCA) sessions for cloudrelated incidents and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
o Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers helping them to resolve complex cloudrelated incidents.
Cloud Service Improvements:
o Recommend and implement enhancements to cloud architectures tools and workflows to improve service delivery and reliability.
o Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential impact on existing operations.
o Good experience working with cloud environments (AWS Azure Google Cloud).
o Strong experience with cloud infrastructure management including compute storage networking and security.
o Handson experience in cloud monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch Azure Monitor Google Cloud Operations Suite and other thirdparty tools.
o Proven track record of managing and troubleshooting highpriority cloud incidents in a NOC or operational support role.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
o Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Skills & Knowledge:
o Strong expertise in at least one cloud platform (AWS Azure or Google Cloud) with deep knowledge of services like EC2 S3 VPC IAM Azure VMs Azure Networking Google Compute Engine and others.
o Expertise in cloud security practices and tools such as IAM encryption and secure cloud architecture.
o Advanced scripting skills in Python Bash PowerShell or CloudFormation/ARM templates for automation and troubleshooting.
o Strong knowledge of cloud networking including VPCs VPNs firewalls and load balancers.
o Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex cloudbased issues.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
o AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional.
o Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
o Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
o Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) for cloudnative environments.
