Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide where you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals to residents in a nursing home assisted living or senior living community. In this role you will assist with food preparation serving meals dishwashing and ensuring a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment. Dietary Aides work closely with cooks and dietary supervisors following meal service schedules and maintaining high standards of food safety and resident satisfaction. Assignments are determined based on the shifts needs making flexibility and teamwork essential. Whether youre preparing plates delivering meals or assisting residents with dietary needs your contributions will directly impact their wellbeing and quality of life.

Who are we looking for

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with daily food service operations maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards and supporting the dietary team to ensure highquality meal preparation and service for residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn food service routines quickly to ensure efficient operations.
  • Set up meal trays and assist in serving meals.
  • Strip returned trays and operate the dishwasher for cleaning.
  • Monitor and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of the shift and during cycles.
  • Prepare nourishments and snacks for residents
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen and maintain clean floors.
  • Dispose of trash and garbage properly.
  • Safely organize and store groceries.
  • Clean work surfaces refrigerators and leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Aid the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
  • Work cooperatively and harmoniously with personnel across all departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand technical procedures and recipes.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers and team members.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to apply fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to interpret written oral diagram or schedulebased instructions.

Certificates Licenses Registrations:

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid food handlers certificate.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand walk and perform physical tasks for extended periods in a kitchen environment.
