Software Engineering Senior Manager/Director

Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager you will be responsible for creating and implementing effective software solutions. You will collaborate with upper management to establish software requirements and lead both operational and technical projects. In this role you will work independently with minimal supervision. The position demands excellent organizational and problemsolving skills along with handson experience in software development and agile methodologies. Your primary objective will be to develop highquality software that meets user needs and aligns with business goals.

The primary focus of this role is equipment control within the semiconductor industry. You will manage a team of C#/C programmers utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 targeting Windows 10. The projects involve software high level control of robotic and other motionrelated hardware. Furthermore machine vision and machine learning technologies are being integrated into the system. Specific tasks will be carried out throughout the project lifecycle.

The Manager will ensure that all requirements are clearly understood by the team review and write requirement specifications and facilitate team reviews of these specifications. They will oversee design and code reviews for each software change ensuring that changes are tested both in software emulation and on hardware. The Manager will collaborate with the entire team including mechanical electrical and software engineers for systemlevel integration. They will ensure that features and fixes are documented for all software releases delegate customer support issues to software engineers and work with other engineers as needed. Additionally the Manager will participate in team reviews of specifications code documentation and test cases.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Development highquality software design and architecture
  • Identify prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
  • Develop tools and applications by producing clean efficient code
  • Drive Automation testing as part of SW development.
  • Provide direction and improves during code/design reviews
  • Ensure that validation and verification testing is completed by all SW engineering
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to fix and improve products
  • Document development phases and monitor systems
  • Ensure software is up to date with the latest technologies
  • Drive SW engineers to attend sensor technology conference and apply new technologies to our products.
  • Submit patent ideas for our products that will keep the company as the leader in the industry.
  • Help engineers fix their code or solve complex problems.
  • Work with management to keep the project on track.
  • Mentor entrylevel engineers.
  • Writing welldesigned testable and efficient code
  • Provide guidelines for reusable components and libraries to follow by engineers
  • Review and ensure that all coding is optimized performance
  • Providing code documentation and other inputs to technical documents
  • Supporting continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review
  • Participating in code reviews

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in software development scripting and project management
  • Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g. Python C and C# Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux Windows)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis to design development testing and implementation
  • Strong understanding of version control systems (GIT SVN etc.
  • Good understanding of objectoriented principles and knows how to use several design patterns
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work with automation
  • Experience in programming multithreading and network communication.
  • Experience with WPF
  • Experience in working on software equipment control.
  • Experience in working with a small project team of 6 15 SW engineers.
  • Experience in the semiconductor or semiconductor equipment industry
  • BS/Masters in computer science/engineering or a related degree.
  • Preferred 2 years as SW manager experience
  • Preferred 3 years as SW developer in C# (Semi Standards preferred)
  • Preferred 1 In automation experience

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $174066.15 USD to $235501.26 USD

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market skills education experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
