Job Description
Are you ready to suit up
We are looking for a full time security guardto work in a retail clients store in Hamilton. As a member of the GardaWorld team your primary role is to ensure the safety and security of the client assets tenants and visitors to the assignedarea in a professional and courteous manner. It is full time position with 40 hours/week and requires availability 7 days a week as the shift fluctuates. The pay is 17/hour.
What youll be doing
- Provide excellent customer service to everyone on the property
- Access control and maintain social distancing within the retail store
- Ensure loss prevention and theft prevention
- Assist visitors guests and the retails staff with respect to safety requests for directions escorts package transportation lost vehicles etc.
- Apply property rules and regulations in a fair and responsible manner
- Write daily and incident reports
- Intervene during medical emergencies and provide first aid
- Facilitate access to authorized persons to restricted areas
- Answer and follow up on phone calls received by the security service
- Monitor the fire alarm system and fire extinguisher system

What were looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a valid provincial security guard licence
- First aid and CPR certification
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Available to work shift work including weekends and overnight as required
- Ability to exercise sound judgment under stressful situations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment
- Knowledge of criminal provincial and federal laws as they pertain to the security industry
- Loss prevention and theft prevention training (asset)
