Job Description:
Develop a next generation Smart Glass product to disrupt the current residential window market. The Cardinal Liquid Crystal team is seeking a diverse talent set in order to fuel our innovation cycle creatively solve problems and meet our project objectives. We hire smart people and get out of their way.
This position will support R&D pilot line operations including setup changeover and operating R&D pilot line equipment. This role will be responsible for ensuring the ontime delivery of 1st Generation Product R&D samples measuring the quality of product and maintaining a safe work environment.

Cardinal IG is a manufacturer of sealed Insulating Glass (IG) and Smart Glass units for the window market. Cardinal is the largest residential glass supplier in the US with 40 facilities located throughout the country. Cardinal is a managementowned company founded in 1962 that has grown to more than 7000 employees.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe work environment.
Learn and operate Pilot Line Equipment
Operate inspection equipment.
Ensure timely of production orders.
Document activities as appropriate i.e. logbook inspection walk throughs etc.
Handle glass as necessary for production
Work in a cleanroom environment and handle materials as needed. This requires the ability to lift up to 45 lbs on an occasional basis.
Assist in the daily cleaning of equipment and production areas
Suggest equipment modifications to increase machine efficiency and improve quality.
Additional Projects as needed by leadership
Drive a forklift and support the receiving area as needed.
Record product test data and provide summary notes on results.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in a laboratory or fabrication setting is a plus but not required.
Military experience is a plus but not required.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft reports.
Ability to fill out technical documentation and draft technical reports
Ability to learn operating practices for new pilot equipment.
Ability to understand and apply the use of measuring instruments.
Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office.
Commitment to safety and an orderly and safe workplace.
Ability to work as part of a team including all levels of coworkers and vendors.
Ability to exercise good judgement in decision making ideas and all aspects relating to the Pilot Line team Cardinal and other company relationships.
Maintain professional appearance and conduct exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times.
Compensation:
Hourly 40 hour work week.
