Required Qualifications
Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. in Economics completed by the August 2025 start date. ABD considered with an expected completion date within one calendar year beginning at appointment). Applicants will be evaluated on: Academic qualifications Teaching background or potential for teaching the following courses: principles of economics courses intermediate microeconomics and upperlevel economics courses. Ability and interest to teach a wide variety of economics courses would receive extra consideration. In particular the ability to teach courses like Economics of Law Health Economics Economics of Sports Economics of Natural Resources and/or Labor Economics would be preferred. Desire and ability to support Trumans liberal arts and sciences mission. Interest and background in interdisciplinary and/or crossdisciplinary teaching (including a required Junior Interdisciplinary Seminar and interdisciplinary minors) scholarship and service. Commitment to maintaining a strong research agenda with demonstrated publishing record or prospects for significant scholarly contributions. Evidence of developing criticalthinking and problemsolving skills in undergraduates and mentoring high impact experiences (undergraduate research servicelearning internships) or demonstrated potential to do so. Evidence of strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills. Compatibility with the departments needs; complementing existing faculty strengths in terms of class coverage.
