Job Description Summary
This position oversees physical processing of materials for the library collection and assists with data maintenance in the library services platform (LSP). Hires supervises trains evaluates and provides work direction and problemsolving assistance for student assistants. This is a fulltime onsite position 37.5 hours per week). Anticipated hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:30am 5:00pm.

Essential Functions:
Supervises trains evaluates and provides work direction and problemsolving assistance for student assistants.
Ensures ownership marking and call number label application for all library materials.
Prepares materials to be sent to a commercial bindery provides quality assurance on returned items and adds them to the LSP (Alma).
Receives/activates new materials in the LSP and reconciles invoices with shipments. Has particular responsibility for standing order volumes DVDs CDs and microfilms.
Enters and submits invoices in a timely manner in both the LSP and the University enterprise resource planning system (ERP).
Provides copy cataloging and bibliographic maintenance for a variety of resource types in both physical and electronic formats. Complies with local standards. Updates ZSR Library holdings in the LSP and in OCLC.
Verifies catalog entries and resolves inaccuracies; corrects and replaces bibliographic and acquisitions data in the LSP.
Other Functions:
Participates in team and library initiatives including working groups and committees.
Required Education Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Associates degree plus two years of work experience requiring relevant skills and abilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
Ability to train and supervise.
General knowledge of data components and record structures in databases.
Demonstrated ability to perform detailoriented tasks with accuracy and apply quality control procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Ability to learn new software applications and adapt to changing technologies quickly.
Demonstrated analytical skills and creativity; selfmotivated to utilize experience and available information to assess and resolve problems.
Flexibility in adjusting work to varying time pressures.
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a strong commitment to providing excellent service.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Preferred Education Knowledge Skills Abilities:

Bachelors degree.
Working knowledge of a spreadsheet application.
Working knowledge of serials.
Familiarity with cataloging.
General knowledge of library databases (e.g. OCLC a library services platform).
Familiarity with business practices such as procurement receiving or invoice processing.
Accountabilities:
Supervises students including hiring scheduling timekeeping training and assigning work. Reviews performance and recommends salary increases transfers or terminations of student employees.
Has authority and accountability for own work.
Physical Requirements:
Some activities may include climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching crawling reaching standing walking pushing pulling repetitive motions and lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
