Job Summary Divine Child High School seeks Pom Pon Varsity Coach for. Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in competitive Pom Pon/High Kick techniques to prepare them for events or competition. Candidate must be committed to Divine Child mission of developing youth who pursue lives of responsibility leadership and faith in action. Essential Duties 1. Works with dancers during practices games meets and designated school functions. 2. Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages students to participate. 3. Assesses skills and assigns team positions. 4. Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development. 5. Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition. 6. Coaches and instructs dancers individually or in groups regarding the rules regulations equipment and techniques of the sport. 7. Observes dancers during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement. 8. Establishes and maintains standards of appropriate behavior and provides proper supervision of students at all times. 9. Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met. 10. Follows established procedures in the event of an injury and protocols of return to play. 11. Conferences with parents/guardians as necessary regarding the performance of their student. 12. Follows state regional and district regulations governing the program. 13. Models sportslike behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards peers officials and spectators. 14. Acts as a team representative and promotes the Pom Pon by communicating with the news media booster clubs service clubs and other organizations. 15. Follows established procedures for supplies and uniforms. 16. Works with the athletic director to develop a policy for awards and submits a list of award winners at the end of the season. 17. Participates in special activities to including but not limited to games banquets open houses and pep assemblies. 18. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal & Athletic Director or other appropriate administrators. Qualifications and Requirements: Applicant Requirements: Coaching experience preferred but not required. Applicants must have basic knowledge of skills and techniques. Applicants must have experience at the high school varsity club and/or college level. Familiarity with the Catholic High School League and knowledge of the MHSAA organizations preferred. Willingness to meet all League and state coaching requirements. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with coaches administrators student athletes and parents. Support the growth of the student athletes in virtue discipleship and living the Catholic faith. Must take Protecting Gods Children workshop have a background check and digital fingerprints. After School availability 3:00 pm or after) for practices and events. Saturday availability during season.
