Job Description
(Please note that applicants from Queenstown Cookhouse Middelburg and Somerset East areas will be considered.
- An electrical qualification would be advantageous.
- Certification in electrical / mechanical maintenance agricultural technology or a related field will be beneficial.
- Proven experience as a technician or in a similar technical role (e.g. electrical or mechanical equipment technician) will be beneficial.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair dairy equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
- A valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Installation & Maintenance:Install test and maintain milking machines and related dairy equipment ensuring they are functioning at optimal levels.
- Repairs:Diagnose and repair malfunctions or issues with milking machines pumps pipelines and other dairy equipment.
- Routine Inspections:Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on milking machines and other machinery to identify and resolve any potential issues before they impact operations.
- Troubleshooting:Quickly respond to malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize downtime using troubleshooting skills to find the cause and implement effective solutions.
- Training:Provide training and support to farm staff on the proper use and maintenance of milking equipment.
- RecordKeeping:Maintain accurate records of repairs maintenance and inspections to comply with farm regulations and industry standards.
