POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the School of Biblical Interpretation
DEPARTMENT: School of Biblical Interpretation
REPORTS TO: Dean School of Biblical Interpretation
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Nonexempt
PAY RATE: $16.00
HOURS: 40 per week
Position Summary
The administrative assistant for the School of Biblical Interpretation (SBI) provides administrative support to the Dean in all aspects of the administration of the School as well as providing clerical support to the faculty of SBI.
Essential Functions

The Admin. Asst. to the Dean takes a central role on the Deans behalf in managing a number of projects and processes central to the functioning of the School of Biblical Interpretation (SBI) including but not limited to:

The Admin. Asst. to the Dean is an important point of contact with other departments on behalf of the Dean and as a liaison of SBI ensuring the successful functioning of institutional processes including but not limited to:
3. Supporting the Dean as Directed
In addition to the Admin. Asst.s active role in central administrative processes the Admin. Asst. supports the Dean generally as directed including but not limited to:

The Admin. Asst. of the Dean provides critical administrative support to SBI Faculty as needed including but not limited to:

1. Hardware: computer (Windows) Shoretel Office Phone fax copier video camera IPad/Classroom console/HDMI cable (for Zoom microphones and presentations)
2. Software: Microsoft Office (Excel Word Powerpoint Publisher) Internet (Google Chrome) Canvas Simple Syllabus Campus Nexus Google Drive Zoom EMS Watermark (course evaluations) Clipchamp (video editing software) Vimeo (video editing and library) and library search engines.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Bachelors degree required (exceptions will be considered depending on experience).
2. Demonstrated administrative abilities and capacity to take initiative to problemsolve and to work productively without continuous supervision.
3. Demonstrated secretarial/clerical competencies (e.g. English composition grammar spelling and punctuation) basic math and accounting skills word processing and spreadsheets.
4. Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.
5. Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of mediums and to maintain good working relationships.
6. Punctuality flexibility maturity professional demeanor positive attitude friendly disposition and ability to exercise discretion on sensitive issues.
