  • Permanent fulltime role 1.0 FTE) working 38 hours across 5 days per week.

  • Salary Range $99365.02 $103663.17 11.5 superannuation

About the role

The role is responsible for providing high level customer focused development and compliance services and ensuring development work undertaken within the City is completed in accordance with relevant development approvals related legislation and community expectations. The role offers a level of autonomy and selfdirection with guidance and support from experienced senior officers and associated planning and environmental health teams.

The role is primarily focused on assessment inspection and compliance work relating to the Planning Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016 National Construction Code Series and related Australian Standards.

Functions of the role are varied and include working on residential and commercial developments while engaging with residents community members and professionals from varied backgrounds to action minor and complex development functions.

About you

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Building Surveyingand extensive experience relevant to the position.
  • Current Accreditation to Assistant Building Surveyor (Level 3
  • Building Surveyor Limited (Level 2 under the Planning Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 Accredited
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in undertaking compliance investigations and enforcement processes.
  • A sound understanding of the role of Local Government in development service delivery.
  • A detailed working knowledge of the Planning Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016 National Construction Code Referenced Australian Standards and related policies.
