Required Qualifications
An earned doctoral degree in counselor education from a CACREP accredited program or employment as a fulltime faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1 2013; ABD will be considered if degree conferred before August 11 2025 A stateissued license or certificate related to a counseling specialty area Commitment to teaching supervision scholarly activity and service Commitment to the liberal arts and science mission of Truman State University
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of five years clinical experience as a fully licensed/certified counselor in school rehabilitation or community settings Counseling supervision credentials and experience Commitment to excellence in teaching supported by teaching evaluations or other documentation Commitment to diversity and experience with diverse populations Evidence of strong interpersonal skills Evidence of individual and collaborative institutional service Knowledge and experience with CACREP accreditation requirements Experience developing and teaching in online counseling programs Experience teaching counseling courses Active involvement in the counseling profession as evidenced by sustained memberships in professional counseling organizations professional development and activities and scholarly activity in the form of professional publications and presentations Experience advising graduate students Demonstrated potential for leadership and advocacy in rehabilitation clinical mental health or school counseling
