Job Description
Our client a prestigious boutique law firm based in Sandton is seeking an experienced Senior Associate: Litigation to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of litigation matters across various legal areas ensuring cases progress efficiently from inception to resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor deadlines closely to ensure timely filing and court appearances.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on relevant statutes regulations and case law to inform litigation strategies and provide accurate wellsupported legal advice to clients.
- Prepare and draft a wide range of legal documents including but not limited to pleadings motions affidavits discovery requests and settlement agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and procedural requirements including court rules filing deadlines and ethical obligations.
- Oversee administrative tasks related to litigation including maintaining uptodate case files tracking billable hours and preparing billing statements in line with firm policies.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients on a wide range of litigation matters including contract disputes personal injury claims property disputes labor law issues and other areas of civil and criminal litigation.
Key Requirements:
- Admitted attorney with an LLB / BA Law / BCom Law degree.
- 46 years PQE.
- Strong background in litigation from a large firm.
- Indepth knowledge of High Court and Magistrates Court processes.
- Criminal law experience beneficial.
