The Recovery Incentives Project is a collaboration between LifeMoves Stanford Housing Equity Project (SHEP) and outpatient recovery service provider Caminar. The goal of the project is to increase participation and retention in recovery services among LifeMoves single adult clients with substance use disorder with the larger aim of improving housing outcomes for these clients long term. The project employs a contingency management treatment approach rewarding clients with financial incentives that increase over time based on their consistent engagement with their treatment plan.
The Recovery Incentives Project is currently active at 4 LifeMoves sites with the potential to grow. The project manager is responsible for supporting our partner Caminar (who is on site providing recovery services) with any resources they need to serve clients reviewing the weekly participation and incentive distribution data for quality assurance working with site Program Directors to identify opportunities maximize participation distributing gift cards (incentives) to sites on an as needed basis and any other tasks related to project or expansion.
For the Project Manager in charge of Santa Clara county you will be responsible for overseeing operations at shelters in Santa Clara (currently Guadalupe Emergency Interim Housing Montgomery Street Inn Julian Street Inn and Mountain View Homekey).
For the Project Manager in charge of San Mateo county and evaluation efforts you will be responsible for overseeing operations at shelters in San Mateo (currently the Navigation Center). In addition you will be responsible for supporting research and evaluation efforts delineated under the Evaluation roles bullet below.
Overall logistics:
Communicate at least monthly with outpatient treatment providers (Jenn at Caminar) to incorporate their thoughts and feedback.
Communicate with LifeMoves team (i.e. Justin) about program needs (i.e. counselor shortages).
Support SHEP team in continuing longevity of the program recruiting additional team members and holding internal events.
Represent project team and project to external partners and/or potential partners
Send updates and manage checkins and consultations with our team mentors (Dr. David Chang Dr. Angie Chen etc. and seeking out additional support as needed.
Evaluation roles: support and participate in the evaluation efforts for the program as part of the Stanford Housing Equity Project team
Establish IRB for the study.
Be the point of contact for the IRB committee to the project team.
Project manage the writing submission and revisions to IRB.
Conduct Voyager (LifeMoves case management system) data pulls.
Support the development of clear plans to understand following questions:
Is participation in this program improving overall client outcomes and transition into stable housing
What is happening to clients who are dropping out of the program What leads them to drop out
How can we better support counselors in doing their role
Organize and document onsite interviews with clients (group and individual) for program improvement and evaluation
Coordinate time space onsite client participation to conduct interviews support transcription and synthesis of interviews.
Project manage writing for 1 academic publications 2 popular press articles with consultation to the rest of the team.
Project manage grant writing.
