JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Fleet Accountant is responsible for managing all financial
aspects related to fleet operations, including the preparation and
reconciliation of financial statements, GST and TDS compliance, bank
reconciliation, E-way bill management, and accounting for fleet-related
expenses. The role will involve overseeing the day-to-day financial operations
of the fleet, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing strategic
financial insights to optimize fleet performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
*Fleet Financial
Management:
- Oversee
and manage the financial operations of the fleet department, including
budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. - Track
and report on fleet-related expenses, such as fuel, maintenance, repairs,
and leasing costs. - Analyze
financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas
for operational improvement.
*Accounting & Reporting:
- Prepare
and maintain accurate financial statements and reports related to fleet
operations. - Ensure
proper accounting treatment for fleet-related transactions, including
depreciation of fleet assets.
* GST Compliance:
- Ensure
accurate GST accounting for fleet-related expenses, including fuel,
maintenance, and leasing costs. - Prepare
and file GST returns on a timely basis, ensuring compliance with all
applicable tax laws. - Monitor
and reconcile GST payments and input credits for the fleet division.
*TDS Compliance:
- Manage
TDS deductions related to fleet payments, including for contractors and
service providers. - Prepare
and file TDS returns in accordance with statutory deadlines and regulations. - Ensure
accurate TDS calculations and maintain proper documentation for audits.
*Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform
regular bank reconciliations for fleet-related accounts, ensuring that all
transactions are accurately recorded, and discrepancies are resolved. - Reconcile
payments, receipts, and expenses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
*E-way Bill Management:
- Ensure
the timely generation and management of E-way bills for fleet-related
goods transportation. - Verify
E-way bill compliance with relevant regulations and ensure that all
necessary documentation is in place.
*Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Develop
and manage the fleet budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets. - Monitor
fleet spending and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain
cost efficiency. - Work
closely with the procurement team to optimize fleet-related expenses.
*Audit & Compliance:
- Coordinate
with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and
support for audits. - Ensure
compliance with tax and regulatory requirements related to fleet
accounting, including GST and TDS. - Prepare
and manage the documentation required for statutory and internal audits.
QUALIFICATIONS: -
Bachelor s/Master s (B. Com/M. Com) degree in accounting,
finance or a related field.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in this field,
preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
