BDUK a subsidiary of Boeing employs over 1700 professionals in the UK and is committed to delivering innovative solutions to our UK Defence customers. Our portfolio includes highprofile contracts such as the E7 AEW&C P8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft and Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets along with Logistic Information Services and Training Services. As an MAAapproved Part 145 aircraft maintenance repair organization BDUK Operations provides maintenance for Chinook Apache and Poseidon aircraft with plans to expand our capabilities to include the Wedgetail aircraft.

To support our growth and lead special projects BDUK MRO is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager to spearhead proposals drive growth and standardise processes across our MRP Part 145 Organisation (AMO/MRO) across multiple sites and platforms. This role will report directly to the Head of Operations and will involve regular collaboration with various internal BDUK Programs Functions and Business Units to ensure that the MRO meets the diverse needs of all programs while adhering to the established regulatory framework (MAA).

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Development:

  • Represent MRO at a designated Business Unit and be part the Leadership team (fixed wing or vertical lift)
  • Be part of the MRO Senior Leadership Team
  • Serve as a senior leader to frontline managers focusing on talent development through our apprentice programs and revising the MRO talent development strategy
  • Drive the team to create innovative and efficient MRO solutions as new program scopes emerge
  • Facilitate site activation and support maintenance management for international customers
  • Provide aircraft and offwing production support
  • Act as the primary liaison with the BDUK regulator overseeing MRO (AMO) process standardisation across location and platforms

Mobilisation & Compliance:

  • Lead mobilisation activities for all new BDUK aircraft maintenance services ensuring seamless handover to teams with a focus on safety efficiency and innovation
  • Oversee regulatory compliance efforts to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations

Technology & Strategy:

  • Champion technology insertion initiatives that align with operational strategies and enhance overall capabilities and target world class productivity.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in MRO within a Senior Manager capacity
  • Proven track record of leading crossfunctional teams
  • Qualifications such EASA/CAA Part 66 Licence Aerospace Engineering degree or equivalent are desirable (not essential)
  • Previous experience as a nominated post holder within the aircraft MRO environment
  • Flexibility to support MRO operations across multiple locations with an ability to travel
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong and extremely detailed understanding of defence maintenance modification and engineering operations
  • Indepth knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements related to major modifications
