Program / Department Summary As Mercy Corps seeks to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression around the world we recognize that instances of sudden change within a country or region, like the events currently sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa, are rare moments of opportunity. Mercy Corps responds to and is well placed to continue its support to the Syrian crisis across the region. General Position Summary Under the supervision of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning(MEL) Coordinator, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Senior Officer has responsibility for supporting Mercy Corps’ monitoring, evaluation and learning activities. Working collaboratively with key program and partner stakeholders, s/he will support the Program teams and the MEL Coordinator in designing, tracking, and maintaining MEL activities conducted by the program. The MEL Senior Officer will be responsible for providing essential support in MEL data management, tool design and reporting. The MEL Officer will also support the department with translations, and support on managing, training and follow up partners and staff.
