Position: Technical Trainer

Location: Local to DMV then Hybrid still fully Remote for now but may be an opportunity for in person in the future Predominantly DC Office, maybe Ashburn occasionally

Top 3 Skills:

  1. Experience with ADDIE Model
  2. Hands on technology training experience, including needs assessment, design, development, delivery, and follow- up on training strategies.
  3. Familiarity using tools to make training materials, such as Articulate, Camtasia, and Snag It and implementing those tools to build training solutions for software platforms, such as SharePoint, Appian, and ServiceNow

Notes:

  • Someone to fill a trainer role helping deliver existing material, new material, maintain learning portal
  • Instructional system design, know or have heard about the ADDIE Model
  • Learning Management, develop curriculum, facilitate trainings,
  • Potential they would ask for portfolios, understand the ADDIE Model, most things are all virtual, which could turn in person
  • Strong SW background, not coding, but know how to work with Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive training for SW modules
  • What is on your road map Technical Trainers in the fall or winter some will be SharePoint/possibly Teams, any new features on Office, also some WebEx
  • Will be opportunity potentially on service now
  • Could be a blended training, groups of 5-10 or 100s depending on SW could vary
  • Job Description:

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate and coordinate with ODST teams and functional areas, such as communication, user experience, service desk, process management, and organizational change management, to ensure end-user success.
    • Create courseware materials with guidance from the Senior Trainer, such as training manuals, videos, audio recordings, quick reference guides, wikis, job aids, or similar materials as needed for in-house developed solutions. Analyze PCAOB purchased software products and provide sound reasoning for selection of training delivery method.
    • Understand and implement the ADDIE method for the design and development of training solutions. Ability to organize, plan, and execute training solutions utilizing internal technology, including Teams, Webex, and Video Teleconferencing (VTC), for instructor-led training. Maintain courseware artifacts and materials.
    • Review and improve training and development policies and processes, as needed.
    • Support adoption and usage of technology within the organization, assisting ODST with meeting project objectives, and having projects on time and on budget to fulfill client needs.
    • Work with the Technology Adoption team to deliver adoption services.

    Bachelor's degree in Instructional System Design or a related field or similar work experience

    Minimum of 2+ years of technology training experience, including needs assessment, design,

    development, delivery, and follow- up on training strategies.

    Extensive, practical experience developing technology-based training programs through classroom/instructor-led training, online/computer-based training, off-site training, etc. (be prepared to show examples if requested).

    Experience with COTS software-based training and curriculums and working with proprietary training programs

    Familiarity using tools to make training materials, such as Articulate, Camtasia, and Snag It and implementing those tools to build training solutions for software platforms, such as SharePoint, Appian, and ServiceNow

    Proven relationship skills, the ability to partner and work strategically with individuals internally and external to ODST to drive overall solutions, while managing issues and risks

    Ability to communicate with audiences of different technical skills, knowledges, abilities, and interests. Lead training sessions without assistance from Senior trainer.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and the ability to handle multiple, critical tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently on projects and collaborate as a contributing team member.
  • A self-starter able to administer several open, ongoing assignments at any one time, where some assignments are routinely unstructured, requiring autonomy and independent judgment.
    • In-depth experience successfully harmonizing diverse and competing interests.
    • Familiarity with Agile
    • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Office.com
