The Apprentice Maintenance Technician position is responsible to shadow and use OJT to learn about maintenance and repairing of plant machinery and equipment with experienced Maintenance Technicians. Position would assist in performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the Company s mission, To deliver exceptional services, engineered solutions and quality products on time .

Essential Functions

  • Routine Facility and Equipment Repairs
  • Preventive Maintenance tasks on facility/equipment as assigned
  • Routine equipment revisions, upgrades, fabrication
  • Troubleshooting and correcting equipment failures
  • Assisting Molding Personnel in Troubleshooting Molding Issues
  • Emergency breakdown response
  • Implementation of new equipment/ processes
  • Complete any task that is asked of you by your Supervisor
  • Follow all safety guidelines and rules
  • Follow written work procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organize work area
  • Able to meet Beacon s Values: Accountability, Integrity, Innovation, Service & Teamwork

Required Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must meet physical requirements of position. Pre-placement physical testing to be performed.
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust work
  • Attention to detail is crucial!
  • Work independently as a member of a team.
  • Forklift license (or ability to obtain license)

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED.

Experience in Plastic Injection Molding

Training in general safety

Strong Mechanical skills and ability to use various types of hand tools

Preferred Education and Experience:



Previous experience with Maintenance in manufacturing setting

Experience with overhead cranes

Troubleshooting abilities in Mechanical, Electrical, and Pneumatics
