Applications Engineer

Position: Application Engineer
Shift:1st Hours:7:00am-3:30pm
Type: Full-Time Mode: Direct placement

Industry: Manufacturing Pay Rate: $80 - 90K (Negotiable, Depending on Experience)

Our client is looking for a responsible Application Engineer.This is a direct placement position with our key manufacturing client. To be considered for this role, you will needBachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in industrial automation applications, PLC programming, pneumatic and hydraulics.

• Develop electrical design, schematics and drawings in AutoCAD ™
  

• Interpret mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic design drawings for electrical requirements
  

• Logic design using Omron™ and Unitronics™ PLC’s and HMI units
  

• Develop Bills of Materials (BOM’s)
  

• Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications
  

• Check the quality of assemblers and technicians work and respond to inquiries during assembly
  

• Work with Sales Engineers to provide customer application support and quote preparation as required
  

• Conceptual circuit design and quote generation
  

• Product component selection and recommendation.
  

• Problem solving and troubleshooting of system circuits.
  

• Problem solving and troubleshooting of major system components.
  

• Circuit and system design assistance for customers.
  

• Direct telephone interface with customer personnel to discuss applications and act in a technical advisory role to resolve and answer technical questions posed by our customers.
  

• Interface with supplier technical personnel to obtain such information and support to assure delivery of prompt, accurate information to his internal and external customer base.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in industrial automation applications, PLC programming, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  

• Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  

• Strong electrical / mechanical aptitude; the ability to understand and apply advanced fluid power and electrical and electronic technology
  

• Proficient in AutoCAD™; SolidWorks™ experience a plus
  

• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  

• Willingness to work in a cross-functional team
  

• Familiar with Industry Standards including NEC, UL and CE
  

• Must be able to develop positive relationships with customers, suppliers, sales personnel and customer service personnel, all with the objective of solving our end customer’s application or technical problems.
  

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. Be methodical and detail-oriented to assure communication of significant activities to other interested parties within and outside the organization.
