Turing is looking for a remote Senior Front-end Engineer on behalf of an emerging stealth company aimed at building the future of work and delivering quality software. The engineer will join the team and help to drive engineering best practices with cutting-edge technology. The ideal candidate must have sound expertise in AWS, JavaScript, and other libraries, as the platform runs solely on JavaScript and AWS. Job Responsibilities:
Develop product features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant way - Work with the team to iterate on new features
- Craft code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment
- Maintain and advocate for the highest standards through code review
- Consistently ship features and improvements with minimal guidance and support
- Collaborate with the team on larger projects
- Improve the overall experience of the product through the quality of front-end features
- Identify areas of improvements in the codebase and contribute to enhance it
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5-8 years of relevant professional experience
- Solid expertise with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries such as React, D3, and MaterialUI
- An understanding of semantic HTML, SCSS, and core JavaScript concepts
- Good knowledge of core web and browser concepts (e.g., how the browser parses and constructs a web page)
- Prior experience using Git in a professional/workplace environment
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
- Capability to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
- Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process
- Possess a positive and solution-oriented mindset
- A keen inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with other teams and part of the organization
- Ability to thrive in a geographically distributed organization
- Relevant working knowledge in Node.js
- Proficiency with serverless architecture using AWS Lambda
- Sound understanding of AWS using Appsync, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudFormation
- Previous experience in a tech startup
- Enterprise software and product company experience
- Developer platform/tool industry experience
- Experience working with a global or otherwise multicultural team
