Turing is looking for a remote Senior Front-End Engineer on behalf of a rapidly-growing company that has developed an innovative technology that automates data collection for businesses in the energy sector. The developer will be spearheading the existing team’s efforts to design and implement a best-in-class product experience. The US-based startup is on a mission to use world-class AI technology in moving the energy ecosystem of businesses, brokers, and suppliers into the future. The company has secured fundings worth more than $1.2 mn so far. This will be a long-term, full-time role requiring an overlap of 4+ hours with the PST/CST time zone
Job Responsibilities:
- Flex between design and development
- Contribute to design sprints and bring best practices in visual theory to the whole company
- Encourage agile development and working with stakeholders to convert feedback into simple UI/UX
- Helping to build and maintain the Angular-based frontend application with superb design aesthetics
- Collaborate with the Product Lead to conduct design sprints
- Drive innovative features and visualizations using quality software tools and technologies
- Work with and maintain solid HTML & CSS style guides and component libraries
- Innovate with team leaders and products to inform on the product road mapping, troubleshoot, and devise meaningful solutions
- Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5+ years experience developing and maintaining customer-facing web applications
- Solid technical expertise in responsive design techniques, accessibility standards, and visual design principles
- Hands-on experience in JavaScript Libraries, HTML, CSS (SCSS), Bootstrap, Design Systems, and Angular
- High level of proficiency in design software, including Sketch, Figma, InVision, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Nice to have some experience working with Zeppelin, AWS, and Node.js
- Deep experience in the implementation of high-quality user interfaces and experiences
- Relevant working experience with design & products teams on design integrations
- Familiarity and best practices with data visualization
- Demonstrable experience implementing high-quality user interfaces and experiences within live applications
- Knowledge of Agile development practices and experience implementing design work from design teams following Agile practices is desirable
- Nice to have prior experience designing data-heavy applications where users have to find, understand, and interact with large volumes of information
- Prior domain experience in energy, climate change, or sustainability is nice to have
