Turing is looking for a remote Full Stack Engineer on behalf of a leading developer of an inclusive all-in-one, theatre software solution platform, making a ripple across the entertainment industry. The selected candidate will play a critical role in building the world's best ticketing platform using best-in-class technology. The platform uses an end-to-end toolkit designed to meet the needs of school, community, and independent theatre makers leveraging real tech industry experience. This will be a full-time role that requires a 4+ hours overlap with the EST time zone. It is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic group of developers and work on some next-gen technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take charge of the product design, architecture, and execution of responsive web applications
- Build the platform uniquely using a modern, open-source stack
- Find common ground between the needs of the business, end-users, and the available technology to develop appropriate solutions
- Build extensively on the existing software stack consisting of React, Node.js, MySQL, etc.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new open source technologies best suited to meet clients requirements
- Execute end-to-end ownership, accountability, and prioritize competing tasks
- Take up multiple roles, be a broad generalist, wear many hats, and lend a hand to assist where needed
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in building large, scalable web applications as a full-stack engineer
- 2+ years of experience working with MySQL
- Experience with AWS cloud architecture and implementation
- Sound knowledge of leading web browsers, troubleshooting, and debugging practices
- Proficient understanding of JavaScript unit testing framework and libraries (Mocha, Chai, Jasmine, and Jest)
- Outstanding skills in prioritizing feature requests, challenging institutional thinking, and successfully managing products
- Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate, influence, and work as part of a team
- Nice to have a background or a strong interest in the performing arts industry and a box office, ticketing, or a related live event space
- Strong problem-solving skills and a good eye for the overall user experience
- Solid understanding of wireframing, user interaction, and visual design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
