Turing is looking for a remote Back-End Python Developer on behalf of a fast-growing company offering affordable and efficient credit building services for users to build or improve their credit. The developer will be working in close quarters with the company’s Founder/CEO and Engineering Lead while playing a key role in the product team. The financial services platform is designed to help users build up their credit scores through a digital credit card. The company has managed to raise $257 K+ in funding so far. This will be a long-term, full-time role requiring an overlap of 6+ hours with the GMT time zone.
Job Responsibilities:
- Showcase excellent leadership and judgment principles, along with high standards on software delivery
- Deliver software that benefits many customers from day one by tackling unique challenges and opportunities
- Channel prior experience with architecting, developing, and supporting distributed and scalable systems running on AWS in a modern object-oriented language
- Evaluate and gather business requirements, advocating for best practices and result delivery within the team
- Track the health of services offered by the company, identify and fix problems proactively
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
- Proficiency in Python, Flask, and object-oriented design
- Experience designing and implementing clean RESTful APIs
- Expert software engineering skills and capable of writing maintainable, testable, and robust codes
- Experience taking product requirements and building scalable, reliable solutions
- Extensive experience with AWS Serverless services such as Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc., is nice to have
- Prior experience with event-driven architectures is desirable
- Experience with system and application monitoring, software distribution, patching and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
