Turing is looking for a remote Back-end Developer on behalf of a top healthtech provider delivering authentic technology solutions in the healthcare industry. The developer will report to the Engineering Lead and be responsible for all aspects of the development and delivery of applications. The company is leveraging tech to build a modern and affordable healthcare system and enables hospitals to perform various health-related functions. It has secured funding worth $10 mn during the Series-A funding round. This will be a full-time, long-term opportunity for developers to work on building one of the largest healthcare data exchanges. It requires an overlap with the GMT +1 time zone.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the current production code
- Innovate and provide new enhancements and products to clients
- Work closely with the product management, operations, quality, and front-end teams to deliver optimum products
- Set up outlets to provision, configure, and develop against remote infrastructure in AWS
- Work actively with Elixir, Phoenix, and PHP to build performant service applications
- Perform application optimization for maximum speed and scalability
- Implement user-facing elements with the API
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3-6+ years of relevant professional experience with Elixir and other similar languages
- Proficient in Elixir, Ruby, Phoenix, and PHP
- Sound software architectural experience
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Ability to separate centralized services into microservices
- Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible/Chef/Puppet, or similar tools
- Take pride in developing readable, well-designed, and well-tested software
- Solid expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and key-value stores (Memcache, Redis)
- Good oral and written communication skills
