Lead Developer (f/m/d)

About Us

You ll be working for the eGroup Technologies Baltic Operations, which is one of IT-subsidiaries of the eGroup Technologies AG in Berlin/Germany. Our parent company ebuero AG is the leading provider of virtual office services in Europe. We develop and operate a Software-as-a-Service platform to provide tens of thousands of freelancers and small businesses customers across Europe with remote secretarial and new work solutions. Our mission is to give people the space to focus on what they are best at.

We consider ourselves as Startup at heart" although we have more than 800 employees worldwide. Our company group has been successful in business for more than 20 years but managed to keep flat hierarchies and a let s-do-it-mentality. We believe that a pleasant atmosphere helps teams to be effective and creative.

We work in small teams according to agile methodology. In the spirit of flat hierarchies, we believe in giving end-to-end responsibility to the people who build the software and enjoy interactions with stakeholders across the company including C-Level executives.

Tech-wise, our solution is built in Java using Spring and Hibernate. Imagine it as a big variety of micro-services using RESTful APIs which empower HTML5-Web-Applications.

Our team is distributed globally and consists of great people from different countries and is 1/3 female. For the upcoming projects we would like to grow this team with a few nice Frontend Developers.

What you ll be doing

  • We have Tech teams in Berlin and in Thailand so far. Now we would like to build a Tech Hub of 20 developers in Vilnius: It is your mission to establish and manage your team of 3-6 developers
  • You coach and develop hard and soft skills of your teammates
  • Take ownership of parts of our system and bring existing applications to the next decade
  • Communicate with Product Owners, Designers, Stakeholders, and developers across all our locations
  • Guide your team to deliver high quality results within the estimated time
  • Lead your team by example and enjoy coding yourself

Upcoming projects / challenges

  • Connect our SaaS Platform to Cloud Services like Google, Office365, iCloud, CRM Systems
  • Transforming our main call-center application from GWT to a modern HTML5-application, including WebRTC Communication
  • Introducing new call routing and billing features to our Telephony Services platform
  • Migration of VoIP Layer 3rd party call control to distributed WebRTC-Softphones
  • Adding Features to our new Customer Portal, such as an Onboarding Wizard

What you bring to the table

Must have:

  • You have previous experience in a team or tech lead position
  • You know how to create and maintain a good team spirit
  • You bring people and their ideas to the next level
  • You love to coach Engineers to improve their coding skills
  • A minimum of 5 years working with Java, Spring, Hibernate
  • Good knowledge of REST microservices
  • and SQL

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Frontend Development

  • Knowledge of Angular and web components is an asset

  • Voice over IP

  • RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, GWT

  • DevOps Knowhow: Jenkins, Stash / Git, CI/CD

  • Collaboration: Jira, Jira Service Desk, Confluence

  • Ideally you hold a degree in Computer Science or a similar field

    • You don t? No worries, we like autodidacts too!
