Intern- Intelligence and Analysis, Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs

We are seekingto recruit a full-time paid internto join our team in South Africa, one of Africa Practice s five hubs across the continent.

• Monitor and analyse media coverage and stakeholder sentiment on key issues and themes relevant to our clients across East Africa
  

• Monitoring trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy and advising clients based on this by identifying negative online sentiments, threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the client.
  

• Produce analysis on trends and media perception on selected topics and themes
  

• Conduct in-depth open source intelligence research to inform client work
  

• Draft collateral, research notes, thought-pieces and intelligence updates for internal team and client audiences
  

• Support with client accounts and business development activities as directed
  

• Use and maintain our databases and proprietary digital tools
  

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in in social sciences, humanities or other relevant subject from a leading regional or international institution
  

• Excellent verbal and written communication ability to write clearly, concisely and confidently to tight deadlines
  

• Excellent investigative and analytical skills with an inquisitive mind
  

• Good grasp of current political and economic matters across East Africa
  

• Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively to tight deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic working environment
  

• Ability to cultivate strong trust-based relationships with people at all levels within the organisation, client organisations and the wider business and political landscape
  

• Knowledge of political, operational and commercial dynamics in Africa, particularly East Africa
  

• Computer proficiency spanning the entire Office and Google Docs suite, as well as graphic design tools
