Job Description

- Assist students in the areas of academic development as well as emotional and social development.
- Collaborate with administration, teachers, and parents to better understand and meet the needs of all students.
- Provide individual and small group counseling as needed.
- Continually plan, evaluate, and revise the school/stage counseling program and respective policies
- Pursue continuous professional development and growth.
- Prepare students for transition to next level (primary stage to middle stage)
- Make appropriate referrals of students and parents to outside when necessary.
- Provide individual planning sessions for each student in the areas of academic planning.,
- Resolve conflict between students when needed
- Report daily logs of incidents that happen during school hours with students to the stage principal and school principal
- Keep a record for every student so that it is a base of reference when needed
- Conduct small group counseling sessions in response to identified needs within the school system. Topics may include academic skill building, social development, conflict resolution, family issues, making healthy choices, bullying..
