SUMMARY
Reporting to the Data Delivery Lead, the MIS Reporting Analyst's (MIS RA) will engage business users to gather requirements, document, design and develop reporting artifacts, to allow for improved business decisions and actions. The MIS RA will also provide training on the use of the reporting systems, prepare business reports and assist the technical teams in enriching/enhancing the developing and maintaining databases, filtering data and correcting code issues.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements to systems requirements.
- Create business reports and analytic objects that provide insight into key data points.
- Migrate existing reports from legacy platform to the group data warehouse.
- Work with business functional teams in designing and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that will support short- and long-term reporting and analysis goals.
- Own the refinement of processes to increase the efficiency and quality of analyzing business data to meet current and future business needs.
- Provide subject matter expertise and represent IT/MIS as resource on JMMB projects as assigned.
- Support the management of the group's data warehouse infrastructure including support planning, issue resolution and critical process monitoring.
- Support efforts to integrate new data sources into the group data warehouse.
- Form effective relationships with personnel at all levels and across all functional teams to effectively accomplish the position's tasks.
- Recommend solutions to satisfy the reporting and analytical needs the business
- Promotes the JMMB's philosophy of the Vision of Love and its unique culture and is engaged in the transformation process for the continuous improvement of JMMB with a focus on Business Intelligence and Reporting.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computing and Information Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Three (3)+ years' experience in software analysis, design and development.
- One (1)+ years' proficiency in user requirements gathering, system design and documentation.
- One (1)+ years' training or experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, business performance analysis and reporting concepts and tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and report writing abilities.
- One (1)+ years' solid experience with reporting / OLAP tools such as: Business Objects, Balance Scorecard, Crystal Reports and SSRS
- Expertise in standard databases, query tools, and programming languages such as SQL, and Extraction tools.
- Familiar with programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Power BI, SharePoint, and SQL databases.
- Experience with complex data source system environments
- Working knowledge of financial sector instruments, laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Project management experience a definite plus
- Understanding of the financial sector laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon. Working knowledge of local and overseas investment instruments also desired.
