Position Title: Asst Mgr. / Dy. Mgr. Cost Estimator

Reports to: CFO / Project head

Industry Experience in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas or Energy industry

About the company: Chemical/Pertrochemical

Location :Dahej, Gujarat(Transportation from Bharuch is there)

Experience & Qualification : Graduate with CMA/ICWA with 05 years of experience as lead estimator

Brief about experience :

• Experience with capital projects, design, and/or construction
• Estimating experience in all disciplines including material take-off

Role & Responsibilities

• Serves as Estimating subject matter expert.
• Provides estimates to evaluate various conceptual alternates and support economic evaluations.
• Utilizes historical data with appropriate installation factors, site specific factors and experience to produce cost estimates for project authorization and execution purposes.
• Collects and correlates necessary project-related cost & schedule data needed to determine equipment, material, subcontract, construction labor, expenses, & in-direct reports such as engineering, taxes, etc.
• Ensures accuracy of estimates by working closely with Project Team members to understand scope and details of project.
• Evaluates project deviations in order to provide data to project steering team for proper decision making.
• Keeps abreast of global economic trends and execution methods that affect project capital costs.
• Provides supporting data for GPM measurements, external benchmarking, and project closure.
• Utilizes project estimated scope of work and aligns costs with schedule.
• Contributes to improvement of Cost Estimating Work Process and leveraging of learning experiences.
• Supports the implementation of Most Effective Technology (MET).
• Provides coaching to developing estimators.
• Review of design calculations, drawings and BOQs of complex Structural infrastructure but not limited to Various Hoppers, Steel Silos, bins, Transfer Towers, Truck loading stations, Conveyor trestles, Steel Bridges, Supports, Prefabricated buildings, ducting, Pipe supports, Skids, Pile design, Warehouse Trestles, Service platforms, various specialised product specific Liners, etc.
• Be able to review and challenge the geotechnical survey reports, Hydrology reports, site conditions like wind speed, relative humidity etc to ascertain the most optimum values are considered for Design of structural facilities.
• Able to check the adequacy of design through previous experiences/Thumb rules and propose for optimum design
• Able to generate BOQ using design calculations and cost for the proposed Value Engineered/optimised option as counter proposal to engineering
• Able to manage proactive communication with Client and interface with other disciplines
• Capable to check the deliverables (design documents and drawings) and ensure its quality and adherence to project specifications
• Able to review and propose optimum technical specifications for EPC/Structural RFQ
• Preparation of Project CAPEX Budget, Project Estimate inclusive of Method statements
• Conceptualization of Structural project packages, Contact strategy & Rate analysis,
• Issuance of the Inquiry and issuance to Vendor and Subcontractors for budgetary quote
• Vendor Development for preparation of Cost estimate and subsequent for Contract
• Preparation of Comparative statements & Negotiation
• Study of Bid documents, Identification of Structural works and related terms and conditions
• Study of Resettlement & Rehabilitation Policy and respective Structural items specification
• Historical data preparation and preparation of Parameter/ Thumb rules for ease of estimation and strengthening
• Have knowledge of other discipline inputs needed for estimation.
• Being pro-active to share knowledge and learn other discipline scope/estimation skills
• Able to Automate standard design to cost templates for Structural Estimation to increase productivity.
