Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job Description

• Coordinate and manage manufacturing engineering projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
• Analyze engineering technology, product needs, and testing procedures from the planning of fulfillment review and approve product design and changes.
• Accountable for execution of orders within assigned area. Compile orders and ensure adequate supply inventory. Monitor order status to ensure completion. Communicate status, work activities, and potential problems to production personnel, maintenance personnel, and appropriate others (i.e. support functions).
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace including but not limited to: daily cleaning schedule and weekly cleaning schedule as well as ensuring maintenance and repair on all current and future equipment.
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Ensuring effective manufacturing compliance with regulatory; and environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment, and operations for better utilization of space;
• Assist in the assessment of vendors/ subcontractors for consideration;
• Provides collaborative, supportive yet challenging leadership to the Technical Group personnel;
• Manage annual goals/objectives, performs Personal Development Reviews (PDR) on direct reports, fostering individual growth and development;
• Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies;
• Runs continuous improvement plans/projects to KPIs such as yield, set up times, FTR, MTBF;
• Responsible for the attainment of the plant budget as it relates to the technical group expenses;
• Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material, and personnel;
• Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
• Study production and machine requirements
• Develop and test effective automated and manual systems
• Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources
• Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations, and network performance
• Resolve issues and delays in production
• Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
• Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations
