Logistics Manager

About the Job

• Monitor and Communicate with service providers, such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, customs brokers, and trucking companies.
• Create policies or procedures for logistics activities.
• Help in determining appropriate equipment and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials
• Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports, exports & customer issues.
• Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies
• Negotiate transportation rates or services.
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
• Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation, warehouse activities, safety performance and logistics quality management
• Monitor product import and export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
• Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit and delivery
• Negotiate with suppliers and customers to improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability
• Manage and handle all documents of export and import shipments.
• Deal directly with the shipment lines (land – marine – air).
• Follow up with sales department about clients to verify exact requirements concerning shipping dates, documents required and destination
• Finish all customs work for the export/import items in coordination with clearance employees.
• Ensure 24/7 availability for safe transportation of goods.
• Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork
• Obtaining all necessary permits for free zones
• Provide ongoing analysis in areas such as transportation costs and delivery processes.
• Dealing with plant quarantine about operation of imported cotton shipments.
• Dealing with customs and the General Authority for Investment delegates
