Inventory Controller

Job Description

• Deal directly with suppliers, and execute purchasing strategies
• Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
• Examine and test the raw materials and supplies supplied to the location according to the acceptance criteria.
• Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
• Keep financial and non-financial records, manage cash movement and bookkeeping
• Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
• Supervise all staff andexternal contractors
• Coordinate the use of automated and digital systems where necessary
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness

Job Requirements

• Min 2 years of experience.
• An Engineering degree is a plus - preferable Chemical or Petroleum or Mechanical.
• Excellent technical and computer skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets - Proficiency in excel is a must
• Very good numerical skills
• Excellent People management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good analytical, critical thinking
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
• A team player
• Knowledge of basic accounting is a plus
