Job Description

  • Operational
    Preparing forwarding work plans and submit to Head of Forwarding to obtain approval.
  • Keeping the Head of Forwarding up to date with status of goods being transported and escalating any delays or issues as they arise.
  • Implementing daily forwarding activities in compliance with approved plans. Key responsibilities include:
  • Soliciting Ocean & Air rates from the shipping lines & carriers for the Import shipments
  • Arranging booking for all kinds of shipments Ocean & Air based on terms of delivery condition (Ex-work, Free on Board (FOB)) and Full Container Load (FCL) or Less Load Container (LCL) shipments and completing key forwarding forms and documents on a daily basis and obtain Head of Forwarding approval when needed
  • Arranging for booking with the shipping line through their website or with overseas shipping agent
  • Checking and revising the Bill of Lading with the client
  • Following up regularly on shipment related updates and Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)
  • Contacting customers on a regular basis and providing them with updates on the shipment status and resolving issues, when needed
  • Receiving customer's inquiries via phone, or mail & reverting to the customer or forwarding the case to the concerned department
  • Coordinating with the finance team regarding accurate and timely billing and invoicing of customers
  • Updating all forwarding activities accurately on all relevant information systems and in a timely manner
  • Maintaining constant communication with transport teams at Royal in order to be up to date on shipments’ status and any issues and informing customers of the same.
  • Maintaining constant communication with sales teams at Royal in order to be knowledgeable of customers’ requests for services and plan the provision of these services appropriately.
  • Maintaining strong relations with all stakeholders including customers, carriers, agents and other parties.
  • Preparing regular reports covering the details of all forwarding activities and adding analysis and recommendations for improvement, when necessary, and submitting them to the Head of Forwarding in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. logistics management or Business administration or any relevant field)
