DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Objectives of this Role

• Maintain our infrastructure beside, building and setting up new development tools
• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Deploy updates and fixes
• Provide technical support
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Develop scripts to automate visualization
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
• Must Have
• AWS
  • Certification or 1+ years hands on
  • Linux systems configuration
  • AWS services (Computing, Database, Security, Queueing, and messaging services)
  • Monitoring and logging
• Docker
  • Experience with containers as build artifacts
  • Configuration, provisioning and deployment to production environments
  • Certification or 1+ years hands on
• Build and Deployment Automation
  • Jenkins
  • Gitops (Argocd)
  • Demonstrable track records of implementing continuous deployment (CD) through to production
• Proficient with git and git workflows
• At least one year of experience with Kubernetes
• Good knowledge of Bash scripting or Python
• Working knowledge of databases SQL and non-relational databases like MongoDB
• Knowledge of microservices approach
• Problem-solving attitude
• Collaborative team spirit
