Job Description

• Designed bridges and other highway related structures using PennDOT standards, and AASHTO policies and procedures.
• Provided engineering supervision to technicians and CADD draftsman in daily work activities associated with project and employee development.
• Reviewed soil reconnaissance, preliminary TS&L design studies, hydrology & hydraulic reports, geotechnical reports, foundation reports, PS&E packages, and QA/QC forms prepared by consulting engineers.
• Reviewed fabricator shop drawings for compliance with design drawings.
• Assisted in the development of bridge maintenance repair contracts.
• Reviewed geotechnical reports and project drawings/specifications to ensure correct construction quality.
• Supervised major bridges under construction and checked material testing procedures.
• Prepared structural and geotechnical reports on rehabilitation of drainage structures.

Job Requirements

• Able to read construction drawings and use AutoCAD
• College / University, Bachelor of Engineering Architecture or Civil.
• From 5 -10 years of experience as a Bridges Civil Engineer
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to supervise and guidance.
