A new liquid density sensor based on our piezoelectric MEMS technology has been developed at SAL. The thesis will focus on proof-of-concept experiments and aims to verify the theoretical model of this liquid density sensor.

Tasks

  • The main tasks consist of characterizing the liquid density sensor,
  • designing and conducting experiments,
  • optimizing the sensing structures.

Requirements

  • Top master student with study or research background in MEMS, microfluidics, biomedical engineering, acoustics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, biology, or other related fields.
  • Interested in the MEMS sensors, microfluidic systems, flow measurements.
  • Knowledge of characterizing MEMS sensors or actuators.
  • Experience with design of microfluidic devices would be preferred.
  • Good oral and written English skills.
