As a Counsellor in our Nabu Family Preservation and Restoration Program you will provide high-quality culturally safe and trauma-informed counselling that supports healing strengthens families and promotes self-determination.

Youll play a vital role in helping families stay connected safe and strong while meeting professional standards program requirements and legislative responsibilities.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Delivering culturally safe traumainformed counselling aligned with Wamindas Model of Care supporting children families and healing outcomes.
  • Provide individual family and group counselling including assessment therapeutic planning and ongoing review of client needs and risks.
  • Coordinate care and collaborate with families internal teams and external services to support safety stability and restoration goals.
  • Apply strengthsbased decolonising practices and engage with community Elders and stakeholders to support culturally grounded outcomes.
  • Maintain professional standards through documentation supervision leadership continuous improvement and program accountability.

What Were Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience delivering traumainformed counselling and support to women and children impacted by complex trauma including family and domestic violence.
  • Relevant qualification in Counselling Psychology Social Work or similar (minimum Diploma level) with a current drivers licence.
  • Strong understanding of domestic family and sexual violence systemic oppression and culturally informed strengthsbased practice.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary settings and build effective partnerships with services.
  • High level professionalism cultural competence communication skills and resilience when working with complex and sensitive matters.
