Job Description for Counsellor (International Student Recruitment)

We are looking for an energetic, well-organized, and engaging counsellor (International student recruitment) who is expected to connect students with the right course and university. The Counsellor will meet (either virtually or face to face) with students to assess their academic records and linguistic skills, and suggest to them programs and universities which meet entry requirements based on their academic as well as experience.

Candidates must be committed to learning more about the students assigned to them and be knowledgeable, resourceful, and supportive with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Counsellor will be responsible for all steps & processes involved in the recruitment of international students right from the selection of course and institution till the departure of the students to their destination.
  
• Maintaining accurate and current knowledge of entry requirements, admission processes, scholarships offered by the universities, and changes in educational legislation, trends, developments, and resources
  
• Screening/ reviewing of documents, conducting assessments, and interviews, and assisting in the admissions decision-making process.
  

Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience in education abroad counselling.
  

Requirements

• 10+2 in any steam preferred Bachelor s degree in any stream.
  
• Experience in education abroad as a counsellor for the UK.
  
• Familiarity with CRM and google sheets.
  
• Familiarity with entry requirements for various courses offered by UK universities, and admissions processes.
  
• Familiarity with scholarships offered for international students by UK universities.
  
• Excellent active listening, and excellent verbal and written communication (Fluent in English) skills.
  
• Excellent analytical and profile assessment skills along with people reading skills.
  
• Good organiser and multitasker with team spirit.
