EducationMasters Degree Required
Experience5 yrs of nursing clinicaleducator or nursing instructor experience preferredMICU or other critical care experience preferred
SUMMARY:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding NSMC Center for Clinical and Professional Development as a unitbased Clinical Nurse Educator. The Clinical Nurse Educator promotes competent compassionate nursing care for patients / families. In collaboration with the Nurse Director and the nursing staff the Clinical Nurse Educator influences outcomes and ensures quality patient care while advancing nursing practice.
The Clinical Nurse Educator supports the development of the bedside nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment development planning implementation and evaluation of competency assessment continuing education and leadership development.
Plans and participates in inservice programs based on needs assessment and PI data; serves as educational consultant for curriculum / program development; promotes and participates in research activities and studies.
Applicants for this position should be energetic leaders who are able to motivate others are skilled at managing conflict and skilled at initiating and maintaining collaborative relationships with peers staff administrative teams and the interdisciplinary health care team.
Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment. The applicant should have a thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical protocol procedures and standards within the medical cardiology area of nursing expertise.
The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the clinical role modeling and professional development of the nursing staff practicing on a 42bed complex medical telemetry patient care unit.
