AMAK is the pioneer private mining company of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, producing copper, zinc in concentrate and gold and silver in doré since 2012. The main mining camp (Al Masane) is in the southwest region (Najran) of Saudi Arabia at an elevation of 1620 mRL and approximately 640 km southeast to Jeddah. It lays about 414 km away from Jizan seaport on the Red Sea connected to Najran by a national asphalt road. AMAK is using Jizan Seaport as the port of discharge for copper and zinc concentrates. Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Company was established in 2007 and Al Masane Copper Zinc Underground Mine and Process Plant started in 2010. The first commercial production of copper and zinc concentrates was commissioned in 2012. Al Masane underground mine includes three different geological zones: Saadah, Al Houra, and Moyeath. Underground production capacity has reached up to 800,000 tonnes per year. In 2019, a new underground access portal was initiated to reach the third mining zone; Moyeath.
