We are now hiring Oncolgy Staff Nurse for a Private Hospital located in Dublin, Ireland.
Purpose of the Role
To work in collaboration with the nursing team to ensure excellence in patient care through a well educated and highly motivated team of carers and the effective and efficient use of resources.
Responsibilities:
- Practice within the limits of ones experience and with assistance from other Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nursing Staff to:-
- Maintain high standard of Nursing Care.
- Develop Clinical expertise.
- Uphold Ethical Values of the Hospital
- To practice within the policies and procedures, legal requirements, guidelines and standards as directed by the Hospital and NMBI.
- To support the policies, mission statement and values of the Hospital.
Clinical Practice
- To co-ordinate the administration of SACT in liaison with Oncology Registrar while strictly adhering to agreed protocols.
- To provide specialist advice and education on oncology within the hospital to staff.
- To act as a support within the Hospital, co-ordinating the care of patients during diagnosis, treatment and on-going care.
- To support, counsel, advise and educate the patient and include them in the rehabilitation process as appropriate. To also include relatives where appropriate.
- To use discretion and decision making regarding patient care, referring appropriately to Medical Staff or other disciplines.
- To function effectively and quickly in an emergency situation.
- To ensure all documentation relating to patient is accurately maintained in the patients medical records in line with policy and procedures and the record is kept in a confidential manner.
- To provide effective and efficient nursing care by:-
- Assessing the physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of the patient.
- Providing care as directed by Medical Staff and other disciplines.
- Preparing patients and their families for discharge.
Requirements
- Be a Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Have at least one years Oncology experience
- Have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary clinical environment
- IT Skills is desirable
Quality Required:
- To implement quality standards ensuring that a quality service is provided at all times.
- In Consultation with relevant staff to research and implement revised practices/new procedures as appropriate and in accordance with best practice.
- To communicate all policy changes to the relevant staff.
- To participate in Quality monitoring as assigned.
- To co-operate with the Quality & Risk Manager.
