Clinical Counsellor- Message Only

We are seeking an EAP Counselor to join our A24 clinical team in the US. The A24 clinical team plays a major role in the face (the heart) of our company. Team members engage with participants over the phone by providing emotional support, managing crisis calls while also taking a clinical message on behalf of the company that we partner with.

It s difficult to describe an average day for our counselors, as each caller presents with a unique set of challenges. It s your clinical engagement & attentiveness that ensures every caller is supported and aware of their next steps. The majority of the day is spent taking clinical messages, providing in-the-moment support, engaging in crisis management, and always working collaboratively with the caller to ensure their expectations of what s next is clear. As part of WPO s commitment to a holistic approach to care, you may also sometimes connect clients within WPO to other services. You will definitely never be bored working in WPO s fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Responding to calls by taking a clinical message & assessing for risk.
  
• Providing in-the-moment support for individuals who are in distress.
  
• Assessing and managing high risk calls and working closely with individuals at risk.
  
• Providing clear clinical documentation in our case management system
  
• Adhering to the ethical and legal standards which govern service delivery, as well as policies and procedures, which apply to the organization and country, as appropriate.
  

To be successful in this role, you need to possess a genuine curiosity in people from all ages, cultures, and backgrounds with the clinical skills to engage and listen while providing clinical interventions such as CBT, solution-focused and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Given the range of populations we support, you need to be comfortable working with individuals presenting with high-risk behavior, complex mental health issues and situation of crisis. We provide support 24/7 and thus, our team works in the morning, afternoon, evening and overnight, however, shifts are always consistent.

Requirements

• Social worker, Counsellor or Psychologist with accompanying Master s degree.
  
• direct client-contact experience providing counselling or mental health services (post-qualification).
  
• Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
  
• Training in mindfulness or solution-focused counselling an asset.
  
• Ability to work evening and weekend shifts.
