Paralegal

• Drafting and reviewing contractsand policy documents for clients
  
• Assisting the Firm’s clients in resolving contractual disputes
  
• Managing the Firm’s litigation matters
  
• Identifying appropriateregulatory requirementsfor businesses and assessing their level of compliance
  
• Identifying areas of risk inbusinessoperations and taking steps to safeguardclientinterests
  
• Managingthe lodgement ofcourt documents
  
• Counselling clients with respect to corporate structures and business franchising
  
• Determining appropriate licensing requirements for businesses and assisting in their procurement
  
• Handling matters of general commercial and property law
  
• Monitoringthe work ofparalegalandadministrative staff
  
• Assisting the Firm in recruitment efforts
  
• Preparing bills of costs and undertaking other accounting practices
  

• Bachelors degree or higher in law with the excellent academic record
  
• Onetofiveyears experience in commercial law is preferred; however, exceptional candidates with shorter experience will be considered
  
• Strong well-rounded technical knowledge and experience in various areas of commercial law will be highly regarded
  
• A passion for legal research and pursuing excellence at work
  
• Experience in commercial litigation will be highly regarded
  
• Working knowledge of popular legal research database solutions such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
