- Drafting and reviewing contracts and policy documents for clients
- Assisting the Firm s clients in resolving contractual disputes
- Managing the Firm s litigation matters
- Identifying appropriate regulatory requirements for businesses and assessing their level of compliance
- Identifying areas of risk in business operations and taking steps to safeguard client interests
- Managing the lodgement of court documents
- Counselling clients with respect to corporate structures and business franchising
- Determining appropriate licensing requirements for businesses and assisting in their procurement
- Handling matters of general commercial and property law
- Monitoring the work of paralegal and administrative staff
- Assisting the Firm in recruitment efforts
- Preparing bills of costs and undertaking other accounting practices
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or higher in law with the excellent academic record
- One to five years experience in commercial law is preferred; however, exceptional candidates with shorter experience will be considered
- Strong well-rounded technical knowledge and experience in various areas of commercial law will be highly regarded
- A passion for legal research and pursuing excellence at work
- Experience in commercial litigation will be highly regarded
- Working knowledge of popular legal research database solutions such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
- Exemplary organisation and time management skills
- Strong commercial/business acumen
