Job Title: Instrument Technician

Job Location: Saudi

Experience: Minimum 5 years in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry

Job Summary:

The Instrument Technician is responsible for the calibration maintenance and troubleshooting of field instrumentation and control systems in oil & gas or petrochemical facilities. This role ensures optimal performance and safety compliance of instrumentation equipment during plant operations shutdowns and turnarounds.

Main Responsibilities:

Calibrate and maintain field instruments including transmitters control valves and switches to ensure accurate process control.

Troubleshoot faults in PLC/DCS loops and control circuits to minimize plant downtime.

Perform loop checks and verify system integrity to support commissioning and start-up activities.

Read and interpret technical drawings P&IDs loop diagrams and other schematics accurately.

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance as per operational and safety standards.

Collaborate with engineering teams and other technical staff to resolve instrumentation issues and ensure system reliability.

Comply with all safety standards and guidelines during work execution in shutdown and live plant environments.

Document calibration maintenance and repair activities in logs and records.

Essential Qualifications:

Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

Proven hands-on experience (minimum 5 years) in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.

Familiarity with SABIC/Aramco projects is preferred.

Strong troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of safety procedures.

Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments during plant shutdowns or live operations.

Skills Required:

Excellent knowledge of field instrumentation calibration and control loop systems.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation (P&IDs loop diagrams schematics).

Competency in troubleshooting PLC/DCS control systems.

Strong understanding of industry safety standards and practices.

Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
